India to Serve US
Summons to Gautam Adani Over Bribery Allegations
The Indian government
is set to deliver a summons from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
(SEC) to billionaire Gautam Adani. The case involves alleged securities fraud
and bribery amounting to $265 million. The summons, issued under the Hague Convention,
requires Adani or his legal representative to appear in a U.S. court. The Adani
Group has denied any wrongdoing and vowed to fight the case legally. The Indian
Ministry of Justice has asked a court in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to formally
deliver the summons. However, this does not mean Adani will be extradited
unless a U.S. court issues an arrest warrant.

Ukraine Accuses Russia
of Prolonging War Amid Ceasefire Talks
Ukrainian President
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of intentionally extending the war by
avoiding meaningful engagement in a U.S.-led ceasefire proposal. Ukraine has
accepted a 30-day ceasefire plan, but Moscow has yet to respond seriously.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stressed the importance of security
guarantees for Ukraine, expressing doubts about Russian President Vladimir
Putin’s true intentions. Meanwhile, the U.S. is actively working with European
allies to push for a peace deal. However, Russia has dismissed the ceasefire as
a mere tactic for Ukraine to reorganize its forces.

Trump is meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss rising
tensions in Europe. Trump’s recent comments on NATO and his approach to Russia
have caused unease among European allies. Meanwhile, Trump has threatened high
tariffs on European wine, champagne, and spirits in response to potential EU
tariffs on American whiskey, escalating a trade dispute. In other developments,
a U.S. envoy is in Russia for peace talks regarding Ukraine, and G7 nations are
questioning Secretary of State Marco Rubio over Trump’s policies.
Boxing: Usyk Ordered to
Defend Heavyweight Title Against Parker
The World Boxing
Organization (WBO) has ruled that Oleksandr Usyk, the current heavyweight
champion, must defend his title against New Zealand’s Joseph Parker. Usyk, who
holds the WBC, WBA, and WBO belts, won them after two victories over Tyson
Fury. Parker, a former WBO champion, recently claimed the WBO Interim belt by
defeating Martin Bakole. Both fighters have 30 days to negotiate a deal, or a
purse bid will be initiated. Meanwhile, IBF champion Daniel Dubois is also in
talks for a potential title fight against Usyk, as he previously lost to the
Ukrainian boxer but later won the IBF belt.
